Frilly Portrait

A storm passed through tonight, and the streaks of lightning pierced through black clouds above the eucalypt forest. No matter how mesmerizing, the bolts that actually hit the ground erase the tranquility of the light show and getting back under cover becomes a priority. The storm was fast-moving and the heavy rains brief, and I soon found this colorful and feisty juvenile frilly. Definitely a biter! So many dragon personalities, and it’s always so exciting to meet another frilly.

Handled with appropriate permits for scientific study; photographed after capture [5]

Footage of another young female frilly; filmed when released [5]
